If you’ve ever thought about bringing your duvets, thick blankets, or simply that massive pile of laundry gathered over the week to a self-service laundromat but hesitated because you weren’t sure how the system works, this guide is exactly for you.
The concept of “urban washing” is a daily routine for millions of people. It’s modern, incredibly fast, and saves you the effort of doing it at home. Still, your first experience might come with a few questions: Where do I put the detergent? How do I pay? How long does it take?
Let’s start at the beginning:
What to bring from home (and what NOT to bring)?
What you should NOT bring:
- Detergent and fabric softener: Our professional machines are equipped with an automatic dosing system. Everything is included, from detergents to fabric softeners, with no hidden costs. The system injects the perfect amount of professional-grade solutions at the exact right moment. This means you protect your clothes from the white residue often left behind by overdosing detergent at home.
What you MUST bring:
- The clothes, duvets, or textiles you want to wash (pre-sorted by color).
- Your phone (for app payments), a bank card, or cash.
How does Laundromat work?
Once you arrive at our location, the entire process (washing and drying) will take you less than an hour. Here is what you need to do:
1. Choose the right machine for your laundry load
We have washing machines with different capacities tailored to your needs. If you’ve come to wash a bulky duvet, a winter jacket, or bedding for the entire house, go straight to one of our high-capacity machines (up to 20 kg). By using a spacious machine, you protect your home appliance and ensure a deep, professional clean.
2. Load the clothes and select the program
Place your laundry in the drum, leaving a little space for the water and detergent to circulate efficiently. Close the door and select the appropriate temperature on the machine’s panel according to your clothing labels (cold, warm, or hot).
3. Go to the payment terminal or open the app (This is where you save!)
You don’t pay at each individual machine, but at the intuitive central terminal or directly from your phone.
Our recommendation: Enjoy a lifetime 10% discount with the Girbau Sapphire Laundry Pay app (Available for download on the App Store and Google Play) or the Laundromat client card! All app users and cardholders automatically receive this indefinite discount.
Using the app is completely free, and if you prefer the physical card (which you can buy at the terminal), the first top-up is 50 PLN, an amount fully usable for our services.
4. Relax for 30-45 minutes
Machine started? Perfect! Unlike washing at home, which can tie up your bathroom all day, our cycles are short and highly efficient. While you wait, you can:
• Connect to our free Wi-Fi and catch up on emails.
• Read a book in our comfortable seating area.
• Do some quick shopping at nearby commercial centers.
• Enjoy a coffee.
5. Transfer clothes to the dryer
Use the laundry baskets provided to transfer your clothes (but please remember they are strictly for use on the premises).
A hack you’ll love: If you use our large professional dryers, your clothes have plenty of room to tumble freely. If you take them out and fold them while they are still warm, most wrinkles disappear, meaning you can forget about ironing!
Why choose a local laundromat instead of washing at home?
If you’re still wondering why millions of people are making the switch to modern laundromats, here’s a quick summary of the benefits:
- Time Saved: Wash and dry 20 kg of laundry in under an hour by using multiple machines simultaneously. At home, this volume would take you all day.
- No Humidity or Mold at Home: Especially during the cold season, drying laundry inside increases humidity. Our dryers solve this problem in 15–30 minutes.
- Maximum Hygiene: We guarantee the highest standards; our machines are automatically disinfected, and for your safety, all locations are under video surveillance.
- ECO-nomical: Protect the environment. Industrial machines optimize water and energy consumption compared to running 3–4 separate cycles at home.
At Laundromat, we’ve turned a household chore into a relaxing, fast, and convenient activity.
